The Romanesque is the most widespread and best known architectural and pictorial current in Catalonia, a fairly homogeneous current that developed in present Western Europe from the 11th century until well into the 13th century.

Currently, nine of the pre-Romanesque and Romanesque churches that we find in Berguedà are open to the public all year round, so that visitors can enjoy and get to know some of the most relevant works of this current in Catalonia.
